What troubles me and what I hear from almost every couple who sits across from me at the first consultation — is the price tag attached to it. Across NRW, these ready-decorated venues have climbed well beyond what most families can comfortably spend, and couples are left believing they must either overpay for the aesthetic they love, or settle for a plain hall that feels cold, corporate, or simply “not enough.”

The Real Problem: Paying for Someone Else’s Vision
Pre-decorated Oriental venues have become popular across Cologne, Düsseldorf, Essen, Dortmund, and the wider NRW region precisely because they promise a finished look with no design work required. But that convenience is baked into the price — and it comes with three hidden costs couples rarely see until it is too late.
- The décor is fixed. What you see in the venue’s photos is what you get. There is little room to weave in your own family colors, your specific cultural elements, or a design that reflects both partners when the couple comes from two different backgrounds.
- Catering and vendors are often restricted. Many pre-decorated halls require you to use their in-house catering and preferred vendor list, frequently at a premium of 15–20% above market rate.
